Progress.......so far
Its been a while since we updated our blog regarding our progress. We are now just a couple of days away from shipping off our ATV to Indore and the team leaves for the event on the 25th of Jan. Excitement runs high and nearly 85% of the vehicle is completed with few a few minor jobs yet to be completed. We also have run the vehicle for over 2 hours and so far the team is satisfied with the outcome. We also decided to keep all videos and pics of our car under wraps for now but please do keep checking here to get the whole bunch of snaps and videos of the vehicle.
The past month has been phenomenal for us. The design and cost reports for our vehicle were submitted as per the requirements. We also sent in our CAE reports to ANSYS are hope to be one of the teams among the analysis report prizes. Apart from that the past one month has seen every member of the team put it a lot of hard work and show exceptional passion to make this venture a successful one. The whole experience has been a memorable one and the best is yet to come.
The team spent days and nights in the college fighting the cold, hunger, sleep, the common cold and more importantly time among others in order to be the best. We Kriegers really did have to call upon our "warriors from within" and managed to get past the technical inspection on the 30th of Dec. Since then our hopes of being a competitive team have grown every single day and we are now just over a week away from judgement day.
The team would also like to thank each and every single person who have stood by us through thick and thin and have always had encouraging words for us. Without your expectations and advice we would have never been able to set for ourselves these high standards. We would also like to thank those people who have been cynical of us all through this as without their cynicism or constructive criticism we would have never had the motivation and determination to get the work done.
All said we all hope to put up an exemplary show at the event and our wishes go out to all the other participating teams.KRIEGER OUT...

Team Meet - 9/9/2010
A team meet was scheduled today, with a relatively poor attendance of 13 members. The main purpose of this meeting was to review the progress and to plan for the week ahead. But first, A.L.Kannan and K.Chidambaresan presented a small talk on the roll cage and it's design, since a few of the members who were not involved in its design had a few doubts pertaining to the same. The various loops, the 3D bend and the firewall were explained with the help of hand-drawn and PRO-E diagrams. K.Nikhil then gave a 5 minute description of his innovation, the Dual Steering. He reported that there was just the ANSYS modeling left for his design.
After the presentations, the progress made so far was reviewed. It was generally agreed that the past week's goals were left unfinished because of the Department Symposium (titled Deus Ex Machina 7), but it was made clear by the Captain and Vice Captain that the tasks for next week would have to be achieved with no room for excuses. The two members given the responsibility of designing the A-Arm, V.Surendhar and S.Nithin were also asked to report on their progress, with just the line diagram being completed. They reported that they were waiting for the Suspension team to give them the exact coordinates, with which the final design can be easily made. Their deadline for submission for fabrication was rescheduled to Tuesday, the 14th of September.
The jobs of fabrication of a Racing Seat and servicing the Gearbox was designated to two of the members, with them expected to finalise all the details by Monday, the 13th of September. Interestingly, due to the recurring instances of members missing the bi-weekly team meetings, the Captain and Vice Captain announced that a small fine of Rs.10 will be collected from every member who misses a team meet. We hope that the team will strive to make sure such a situation does not arise in the future!
Since the manufacturing process is about to start, regular updates with photos will commence. Please keep visiting the blog for the latest progress of Team Krieger.
